A map built from observation

Rather than relying on a predefined Internet topology, UK Internet Report builds its map from routes actually observed during measurements. Intermediate routers become nodes and the relationships between consecutive hops become connections.

As more destinations and routes are observed, the picture becomes progressively richer.

Not a live dashboard

The public report is intentionally snapshot based. Measurements continue independently, while this website presents periodic views of the accumulated topology.

That makes it possible to preserve historical maps and watch the visible Internet grow over time without exposing operational measurement infrastructure.
